2016 started so well with blogging. There was one point I was posting everyday! But then life hit me very hard. And blogging took a back seat, in fact I haven't blogged for over a month. Shameful.

The first of a wave of things that hit me was of course the inevitable essay. I'm not sure if it because it means something now but I'm finding that the workload of second year is really hitting me hard. It's really hard to keep on top of it all and no matter how much time you I'm make for a piece of work I always find I'm handing it in at the last minute because I feel there's more to be done. Luckily for me I actually did quite well in this piece and I'm doing a degree I really enjoy- not just one I feel will make me employable.

Speaking of employable, I recently attended an interview. I don't want to name the company but let's just say it was for a top PR firm and sounded like my dream internship. And I fluffed up the interview. I'm not too sure what happened, I researched them and their work before hand, prepared answers.... I think nerves just got the better of me. I still haven't heard back and I don't really expect to. But hey, you live and learn. I know for a fact I wasn't my best at the interview and if I was turned down at my best then I'd be worried. But I know what I need to improve on from now on.

On a slightly brighter note another thing which has kept me busy and away from blogging has been campaigning! When I say campaigning I mean for the Kent Union elections and although no one I was campaigning for won, I still had one of the best weeks of my time at university. Corny as it sounds I loved being involved with it all, meeting new people and just generally trying to make a difference for people. Something I really regret about first year is not getting involved enough, and now I've done the total opposite and I love it!

So that was just a bit of a catch up! Hopefully I'll learn and figure out a way to make sure my blog doesn't get neglected during these busy periods. Think I'm just going to have to dedicate Sundays to creating blog posts for the next few weeks!
